We have a lot of new people in the community so I want to explain what this list is again. I like to post a list of stocks to avoid on Thursdays. This list comes from the Negative Borrow rate scan in ODDS Online. Decile 1 of this scan contains a list of stocks that are being heavily shorted. Stocks that are heavily shorted tend to move down. Some people may think this creates an opportunity for profit. The problem is that these stocks are being so heavily shorted that the cost of taking a bearish position is so expensive that the profit potential is offset by the cost of entering the position. Bullish positions are unlikely to profit and Bearish positions cost too much. Our research, as well as research done by others says the best course of action is to avoid these stocks.
