October 14, 2020

The Volatility Index rose on Friday when the president announced his positive virus test. The market was down early Friday morning and recovered by the end of the day. The rally continues this morning as the major index futures are all up and VIX futures are down in pre-open trading. We continue to look for both buying and selling opportunities, but caution is prudent as VIX futures & SPY Term Structures show expected volatility increases going into November.

The scheduled news/events this week are lighter than we've seen lately. But meaningful news like the president's positive test can show up unannounced. So keep an eye on market-related news.
